West Village is a $1.1 billion, multi-award winning urban regeneration project by Sekisui House Australia. But the accolades did not come easily. The project was weighed down by controversy even before it began (most big projects are these days).
To move the project forward, an extensive program of stakeholder engagement informed a comprehensive sustainability plan addressing environmental, social and economic objectives. A diverse range of partnerships and initiatives were developed to achieve the plan, with a focus on the arts, social infrastructure and community inclusion.
The project is consistently one of the the best performing in Brisbane, attributed to its unique place identity developed through the sustainability planning process.
